We have three social double leagues and one singles league run at the club.
Monday Night Doubles
Monday night league starts at 7.30 pm and is for players who are not available to play every week. It is aimed at players of intermediate or better ability. The draw is made up on Monday based on the list of available players and their placing on a computerised grading list. A consistent player base of 16 or so players turn up every week. There is even the occasional game of singles for those who want to play.
For more information contact Ken Barnett at email@example.com.
Tuesday Night Singles
Tuesday Night Tennis is singles tennis open to all members. Players are ranked according to results and will usually play other players of roughly the same ability. The format is one match per night which is the best of three sets. We start at 7:30pm. Contact James Murphy on firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
Wednesday Night Doubles
Wednesday Night Tennis is a doubles format open to all members. The night starts at 7pm and is played during the school term.
We cater for players of all ability and games are arranged accordingly.
The League can accommodate 28 to 36 players over Winter and 28 to 44 players over Summer.
- There are three pools of players and each week a team of four is randomly selected to play that night from each pool.
- Players then play three sets, playing a set with each player within the four.
- Players play for individual points, every week players are moved accordingly between the pools depending on the results from the previous two rounds played.
- Each set is played first to 6, win by two with a tiebreak played at 6-6.

Saturday Afternoon Doubles
There are two different leagues run side by side on Saturday afternoons from 1.00 pm.
One league is mixed and operates for players at intermediate level and above, who play a consistent game of tennis. Games and format are adapted to the number of players that attend and allocated to two courts from 1 pm – 5 pm. At the end, weather permitting, a social get-together takes place on the deck in the form of refreshments/nibbles.
The other league is for ex interclub players who want to play competitive doubles matches. Player combinations are re-organised for each week and allocated to a court for 2 hour time slots. There is a social gathering and sausage sizzle at the end of these matches on the deck.

Sunday Morning Beginner Meet-Up
The Sunday Morning meet-up is a new group for adult beginners and has been running since October when our club coach, Michael, began running his Tennis Xpress Adult Beginner courses. The meet-up provides an opportunity for those new to tennis to hone their skills and learn game play in preparation for joining our senior leagues in a friendly, relaxed environment. It is also a great group to join if you played in your younger years, took a break, and want to get back into it. The group runs from 9am – 10:30am, to coincide with the Sunday Junior Introduction clinic. You are welcome to come and try it out (racquets available to borrow).
The format is a tennis warm-up, short drills, serving practice, and then we get into playing short double games. We have adopted a casual turn-up and play approach, there’s no commitment to attending each week – but the more you play, the more you improve!
If you would like to come along and have a go, just turn up on the day. For more information please email Steph Fuller, email@example.com.
*** Over the winter the group meets on a Sunday morning at 9am. This is purely game play only and is run by Annelisa.
